My Road to Magento Imagine 2019

My Road to Imagine has become a yearly post, and with just under a month to go. Here are some of my tips, recommendations and a few predictions to make sure your #RoadtoImagine doesn’t hit a road block.  With 800+ technology partners, 350 systems integrators, a community of over 315k developers, and over 4,400 extensions in the marketplace, proper navigation has become a necessity.

Each year, the hype gets bigger, the anticipation erupts and the road to Imagine takes on a life of its own. Twitter feeds will soon be filled with #MagentoImagine and #RoadToImagine posts, so make sure you follow and take part in those conversations. ParadoxLabs has attended Imagine since its inaugural event nine years ago, and we are thrilled to see the excitement hasn’t wavered.

Road to Imagine Tips

  • Arrive early and get registration out of the way. The line can get backed up if you wait until the last minute.
  • Plan and know what sessions you want to attend.
  • Arrive at sessions early. The seats fill up quickly.
  • Pay attention to social feeds. Trust me it will help you network, let you know what sessions are filling up quick and ensure you are on time for the parties.
  • Follow #RoadToImagine
  • If possible, learn the floor plan of the Wynn. There is a lot of walking and you want to know exactly where you are going before you start.
  • I say this every year, but it always needs repeated- wear comfortable shoes during the day. Save the heals for the nighttime events.
  • Keep a water bottle on hand.
  • Make sure you connect with people on social after you meet them. It is a great way to follow up and learn more.
  • Talk to as many people as possible. This is not an event where you want to be shy.

Road to Imagine Recommendations

These are some of my top picks for places to eat if time permits. I promise you will not be sorry.

Gordon Ramsay Burger: Each year, I search for the best burger in Vegas and this year the honor goes to the Hell’s Kitchen Burger. Order a side of Truffle Parmesan Fries and you will have an out-of-body experience.

Mesa Grill: Bobby Flay’s Southwestern flare brings fine dining to a new level. I have made this a must visit every trip to Vegas. My favorites include the Cremini Mushroom Quesadilla and the Fire Roasted Pork Chop. And be sure to treat yourself to one of the best Margheritas in the World.

Guy Fieri’s Vegas Kitchen & Bar: If you are looking for a casual, fun experience stop buy and order a Bloody Mary and Trash Can Brisket Nachos. The nachos will feed a crowd, but make sure you ask for extra napkins.

Momofuku: On the second floor of the Cosmopolitan you’ll find David Chang’s Momofuku, a brilliant blend of US and Korean/Japanese cuisine. The menu is always changing, but the spicy cucumbers are a great starting point, just make sure to save room for Milk Bar’s Crack Pie with Cereal Milk Ice Cream.

Walk Across the Brooklyn Bridge in Vegas:  This is a favorite and be sure to check out one of my favorite Band’s on the Strip, Hart Attack.

Chris Angel Mind Freak: If you can fit this in, I highly recommend getting tickets to this show. It was amazing.

Road to Imagine Predictions

I can say with almost 100% certainty that the Adobe acquisition will take center stage. We’ve already begun to see some of the changes Adobe has in store for Magento with the unveiling of Adobe Commerce Cloud at Adobe Summit. Personally, I hope to leave Imagine ’19 knowing what additional improvements and integrations Adobe has in store, and how Magento users will benefit.

My only other prediction is that the road to Imagine will be the path to building new relationships and discovering emerging trends and innovative solutions to the challenges of eCommerce.

If you’re attending Imagine this year, look for members of our team and start a conversation. We are ready to share our knowledge and learn from you!
